R Martins Butchers is a family run butcher shop which has been established for over 100 years. The shop is situated on Newgate Street in the market town of Morpeth which is in Northumberland. The shop itself used to be Walter Wilson Ltd (Grocer) and R Martins Butchers was placed at the back corner of the shop. However when Walter Wilson ceased trading R Martins took over the premises and made it what it is today.

Although the Martin family haven't owned the shop for many years now Geoff Rice and Lee Belisle still run the shop to a very high standard, keeping the place as traditional as it gets. All the meat is from locally sourced farms, especially the lamb and beef which is bought at the local Acklington market which is hot to stock from local farmers. This means there is full traceability back to the farm gate enabling the customers to shop with confidence knowing where all the meat is sourced.
